I agree that the Yanks win.... just like Samuel Adams..."Always A Good Choice"... Look for Posada to come off the bench and fuck some shit up in his final season.... as for the rest of the teams... they can suck an egg!!
Let's go Yanks! Hopefully the Rays will make it to the ALCS so I can see a playoff game! haha. Kind of disappointed though about ATL. It would have been nice to see another Yanks/Braves World Series for old times sake! WS prediction: Yanks/Phillies again.
Not so fast my friend.....I see we're making it a little difficult to get along here. Deleting my posts already??? If this keeps up, we're going to have an escalating problem on our hands. So we'll try this again...
It's nice to meet you, if we can call it "meeting" online. First time follower, long time baseball fan. You don't know much about me, but I know plenty about you. At this point in my last post, I must have touched a nerve because it stayed up for only a few minutes. But from what I hear, you may need to spend less time with a wandering eye and more time doing your research on baseball because these predictions need some work. With that being said, here's what's really going down...
I'm going to start with Arizona/Milwaukee first - I will agree with you that Milwaukee has a little too much firepower for the young, up-and-coming Diamondbacks, led by Kirk Gibson. When talking about D-Back pitching, how can you jump from Ian Kennedy right to Joe Saunders? No love for Daniel Hudson? Regardless, Daniel Hudson may help them win game two, but this one's still going to be Milwaukee in 4. These D-Backs have a bright future though.
Staying in the National League, you predict a Phillies sweep? "Alberta" Pujols and his Cards have been on a tear since Milwaukee and St. Louis got into it a month or so ago. The 3-time NL MVP, in what may be his last year with the Cards, will not let the Cards go down without a fight. Carpenter will at least snag game 3 for them but in the end, the Phillies pitching will overcome Lohse and Edwin Jackson with ease. Phillies in 4.
Now we can move over to the American League where I couldn't disagree more with you. First, we'll hit up Tampa and Texas. Yes, Tampa has been on a solid run, but the run wouldn't have been noticed much if it weren't for the collapse in Beantown. With that being said, Texas has some unfinished business from last year and their overpowering hitting will overcome the weak Rays hitting in 4 games.
And saving the best for last (or most-hated) and yours and Maz's beloved Yankees. All I have to say is Freddy Garcia is starting game 3. HAHAHAHA!!! While this series is sure to be the best of the first round, the acquisitions that the Tigers made by adding Doug Fister and Delmon Young will prove too much for the Yankees in the long run. Mariano Rivera may be the best closer of all time, but he won't mean much if the Yankees don't have the lead late in games. Verlander for MVP this year - and Tigers in 5.
The South Side Hit Man is 1/1 with Texas in 4. After tonight, he'll be 3/3 when Milwaukee and Philadelphia move on to the NLCS. The Yankees will be put out of their misery by the Tigers tomorrow and the South Side Hit Man will have hit for the cycle.
